Below are a few examples of something we did in Computer Science. We made this during our virtual design topic. We weren't really given a structured basis which I really liked. It allowed us to have more of a say in what we wanted to do. Though it may seem simple, I assure you, it was not that easy to make.
Why did you choose to show this work sample on your Portfolio?
This project was a little different from the previous work samples. It involved more student imagination rather than structure. This was a very open ended project that allowed the student to make what they wanted rather than what the teacher wanted and I really liked that.
How does this work sample represent a 21st Century Skill?
We had to much videos on how to do specific designs, and my ability to take in that info and project it, was a showing of my information skills. I also had to communicate with other students which demonstrated my communication skills. And I ran into a handful of problems that I was able to solve thanks to my thinking and problem solving skills.
How does this work sample demonstrate your growth? Is there something you could've improved on?
Well at the start of this year, I only knew the very basics of virtual design, but through the course of this class, I learned how to do so much more. The photos above, though they may look simple, are actually a lot more complicated. And as far as improvements go, I believe that the virtual design aspect of the project was great, I think I just need to work on my artistic abilities.
